Your first karaoke night at The Room

Never sung karaoke in a bar before? Here is how a night at The Room works, from booking to the last song.

When to come

Karaoke runs Thursday to Sunday from 22:00. Earlier, at 19:00, most nights start with a comedy show. Come for dinner and stay for the songs.

Book or walk in

On Fridays and Saturdays the main room is usually full by 23:00. Two people can often walk in. For four or more, book a table online or on WhatsApp.

How the queue works

Tell the host which song you want. The host keeps the queue fair: one song per turn, and groups can sing together.

What to sing

The catalogue has songs in English, Russian and Indonesian. Not sure what to pick? Start with the monthly Top 50: the songs people actually sang here last month.

First time? Pick a song the whole room knows. A chorus everyone joins is easier than a solo ballad.

Food while you sing

The kitchen stays open until 02:00, so rolls after midnight are not a problem. For a group the easiest order is a sushi boat: one plate for the whole table.

Getting home

Grab and Gojek both pick up at the door. If you have been drinking, leave the scooter; staff will help you call a car.
